Prototype Information

The E5 series, which was introduced as "Hayabusa" in 2011, began coupled operation with the E6 series in 2013, and as of 2022, operates at a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph). In recent years, luggage storage areas have been added inside the train to accommodate larger baggage, and as a result, some of the windows have been blocked off.

• Unpowered 3-unit E5 series Shinkansen expansion set comprising cars 2, 8 and 9 of the full 10-car Hayabusa formation.
• Combine with Tomix 98497 4-unit Basic Set and Tomix 98498 3-unit Add-on Set A to assemble the entire trainset.
• The anti-slip roof is reproduced with gray printing.
• Car numbers are selectable and a transfer sheet is included.
