Prototype Information

The 315 series is a commuter train that was introduced in 2021 to replace the 211 series and other trains running within the JR Central jurisdiction. The 315-3000 series is a train that allows for flexible operation by using short trains, and is characterized by cameras on the side of the car body and semi-automatic buttons for boarding and disembarking. In addition, since it is a four-car train, it is equipped with a through-hole and electrical couplers to accommodate coupling with other types of cars such as the 313 series, and the front is slightly different from that of the 0 series. The vehicle is in service in the Shizuoka and Nagoya areas of the Tokaido Main Line, as well as its branch lines such as the Gotemba Line, Minobu Line, Taketoyo Line, and Kansai Line.
