Bring a longtime workhorse of Amtrak's long-distance fleet to your HO Scale passenger roster with WalthersProto Superliner II Cars. Based on the high-level Budd cars built for Santa Fe's El Capitan, Amtrak's first Pullman-Standard Superliner I cars entered service in 1979, followed by Bombardier-built Superliner II cars in 1993 and 1994. A key spotting difference is the trucks: Superliner I cars ride on coil-spring trucks, while Superliner II cars use conventional trucks with low sideframes. Superliners serve primarily western long-distance trains including the California Zephyr, Southwest Chief, Sunset Limited and Empire Builder, along with numerous regional services and the Auto Train. This WalthersProto HO Scale Superliner II Sleeper reproduces the prototype with details including:
  • Colors matched to Amtrak paint standards
  • Simulated stainless steel finish
