These new cars were designed as a single level car primarily for eastern routes due to tunnel clearance issues. Production units were built by Amerail\/Morrison-Knudsen and entered service in 1995. The cars feature roomettes, bedrooms and an accessible bedroom with space for a wheelchair or mobility device.
