Between 1966 and 1972, GM built 1268 of these locomotives before introducing the new SD40-2. The SD40s operated throughout the US and Canada for decades. Broadway Limited Imports is proud to announce our first production of these diesel models in 2023. Our first run will include models of ten different railroads with prototypically accurate road numbers, paint schemes, and road-specific details and lighting. In addition to the Paragon4 version, each model is available in our Stealth Series. These are No-Sound \/ DCC-Ready models that operate on DC out of the box, or a modeler can easily install their DCC decoder of choice. Out of the box, Front and rear lights are directional, and other lights are always ON with track power.
